Notes from yards we have walked

These are not ratings. They are what operators said after a review, a dwell study, or a peak briefing — including the parts that still itch.

Articulated freight truck parked beside a loading bay

They spent the first morning at door four, not in the meeting room. That already told the crew this was not another audit of the policy binder. The scorecard later showed the night backlog with enough courtesy that nobody felt hung out to dry — though I still think they underweighted how late the inbound ASNs arrive from the supplier.

Levan M.Warehouse manager, Tbilisi 3PL

We knew Batumi gate-out looked tidy. Stores still ran short. Deployvectorgrid traced the missing hours to dwell after the highway run, not to the vessel. The pictures were simple enough to take to ownership without a translator from operations.

Mariam K.Import planner, beverage distributor

The carrier pack finally separated the lane that keeps time from the one that only looks fine when you average a month. We did not drop the slow haulier on the spot; we changed the appointment window instead. That was the practical part.

Irakli S.Fleet supervisor, private trucks

Peak briefing arrived the week they promised, which mattered more than a prettier chart. They named three doors that would clog first if the harvest trucks stacked at noon. We restaffed those doors. The rest of the advice we parked until January.

A longer note

Winter at a bonded warehouse near the ring

Customs holds sat on a handful of SKUs while the rest of the floor pretended it was a normal week. The performance review split bonded dwell from domestic dwell so the Monday meeting stopped treating every late pick as a picking problem. The reservation from the client, spoken plainly: they wished we had asked for the broker timestamps on day one, not day four. We now request those at kickoff.

The close-out lived in a twelve-page pack: door heat by shift, a lane strip for Poti inbound, and a one-page exception cluster. No ratings widget. Just the week as it ran.
